An anti-cyclone is moving eastwards off the North Isl«n<\. while a series of shallow depressions is •J----vininchig across the Tasman Sea. —Forecast— Winds: Light to moderate northeasterly to northerly, freshening •somewhat about Cook and Fovennx Straits, and backing to westerly and, later, temporarily to southerly in many pliaces. Seas (N.Z. waters): Lather rough about Cook and Fovennx Straits- and rising somewhat South of Cape TC.trmont; otherwise -slight- to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sen: Moderate north-west to wor-t winds changing temporarily to souther-westerlies, seas slight to moderate. Weather: Fair to cloudy at first, but scattered rains probable- 'Soon in districts with a westerly aspect from Taranaki southwards and in the southern portion of the- South Island and showers extending later to parts of the- East Coast of the South Island. Temperatures mild.
