The fund had since been well kept up. To-day.they had 500 branches in N.Z. who raised funds and sent them on 'co enable their operations to he curried on. Last year over £IOOO had been paid away to subsidise wages of employers },■ salaries of tlio housekeepers, etc, Mrs Jackson further emphasised the fact that the branches themselves did a very great deal of welfare work. Jn dealing with the question of securing proper medical attention foi necessitous cases, the speaker stated that they had waited on the Government on this very important matter, and sho was satisfied that tlio scheme could bo worked under the same- system as the housekeeping and other schemes. A further avenue of extension mentioned by Mr Jackson was tjiat of Home Science. They hoped to see this work extended to Massey College in a similar way to the Home Science Department of the Otago University (
