KING’S THEATRE

Adapt ed from the well known play by tho late Sir Charles Hawtroy, the film achieves distinction by its deft presentation of comical situations and by the excellent performance of its players. A young man in debt, unwilling to face cither creditors or a wealthy and formidable uncle from the Far East, Dicks a guileless curate into faking bis place in town while he lies low at the country house of a. friend. There lie poses as the new private secretary and falls in love with the daughter of the manor. Meanwhile the curate, who is. incidentally, the real secretary, chased by the creditors and terrified by the uncle, flees in. search of his employer, and diverting incidents follow. Edward Everett Hor ton gives a classic performance as the curate, and the late Oscar Asche is seen as the irascible uncle.
