SUMMARY AND FORECAST. (.Press Association)., WELLINGTON, July 2. An anti-cyclone of moderate intensity covers the north Tasman Sea, and extends on to northern New. Zealand, and a slight one is c?ntred near Tasmania. A westerly depression is approaching across the. south Tasman Sea. -—Forecast.— Winds; South-westerly ,at first north of New Plymouth and Napier, otherwise north-westerly to westerly prevailing, light to moderate generally ,but soon freshening about and south of Cook Strait. backing to south-westerly shortly in the far south, and soutberies. aga'n becoming general within 24 to 36 hours. Seas; Rather rough-to rough south of Capa Egrnont, and rising about Cook Strait and Koreans Strait; elsewhere rpoderatc. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong westerly wind; hacking to southerlies in the southern portion; seas rather rough to rough. Weather; Changeable. and with scattered rain in districts will; a westerly aspect and the far south ; mainly fair in the eastern areas, hut showers extending later to the eastern parts of the South Island.
