Two communiques were issued yesterday by the High Commissioner in Palestine. Sir Arthur V aucliopc. Tho earlier official statement recorded. that at about 0 a.m. a large band of Arabs armed with rifles attacked a party of telephone linesmen, who were escorted by a mlitnry party, near Ainsinya on the Nablus rood. Reinforcements arrived from Ramallah after hours of firing, and tho Arab band retired to the bijls, where troops are still in pursuit of them. The Arabs were carrying three of their number. Two soldiers were wounded. In .the southern district, while empty passenger coaches were being taken to Lydda. the engine and two coaches were derailed owing to the line having been tampered with near fiafr Jinnis, and one military escort was killed in the derailment. The. train was attacked by a party <J Arabs, who retired when one of their number was wounded and captured. The driver and fireman of. the engine were severely and another soldier and- a railwayman were injured. Later the engine-driver, who was an Arab, died of his injuries.
