Further additions are necessary. The aim of the curriculum is to meet the needs of those who desire culture, which will .fit them to take their pln.ces in a European environment and to enable them to attend New Zealand -schools for further education. A pleasant surprise awaited the visitors at Malit'a school, where beautiful native songs were sung hv the choir which won the Blcdisloe Cuip. This school is attended by day pupils as well as by tbs sons of chiefs and orators, who remain in residence. Every endeavour is made to fit the latter to return more self reliant!v to their villages. Malifa is conducted by a very able headmaster (Air. Karenc) who is responsible for most of the teachers’ training in West Samoa.
