With a string tied tightly round the throat and thence attached to the foot of his bed, Charles Frederick Williams, aged 76 years, a married man, was found strangled -at Picton this morning. The shocking discovery was made by his landlady when she went to call Mr Williams. He left a note indicating his intention to commit suicide.
