FOEND STRANGLED IN BEDROOM. SEPTUAGENARIAN'S DEATH. (Press Association;. BLENHEIM, June 29. With a string tied tightly round the throat and thence attached to the foot of his bed, Charles Frederick Williams, aged 76 years, a married man, was found strangled -at Picton this morning. The shocking discovery was made by his landlady when she went to call Mr Williams. He left a note indicating his intention to commit suicide.
RUN OVER BY TRATN DEAF MAN WALKING ALONG LINE 'Press Association). ASHBURTON, June 29. George Wright, a married man. -14 years of age. employed on road deviation work,, was killed by a. train when walking on: the line near lUnds yesterday. The 'eng'ne-driver says he was slowing up toi stop at the station when Mr. Wright stepped out- from the side of the track about three engine lengths away. Mr. Wright was deaf and apparently did not hear the train. Death was instantaneous. SINGLE MAN’S ENDGUNSHOT WOUND IN HEAD ‘Press Association. HAMILTON. June 29. Tho body of a single man, Rang! Gage, aged 24 yeans, was found in a vacant, section n Ellis -street, Fraivlct'liii, with a gunshot wound in the .head and a shotgun clasped in a. hand. Tho deceased was a labourer employed at To Awnmutn, and early in the evening had visited friends in Frankton. Shortly after lie left n shot was heard.
