THINGS TO REMEMBER DURING
AN OVERHAUL
Here are .some more things to hear in mind when working on your car. Try to avoid a, confusion of dirty rag's, tools, parts and general grime. A: clean, tidy bench avoids those fits of temper which get you nowhere.
Do not ho rushed. Check everything over very carefully when a, job is finished. Mucli trouble lias been caused through forgotten split pins and locking devices. Do not use ‘‘hit or miss” principles in tracing faults. Follow through in a .serins of progressive steps.
Always protect "frigs and coachwork a.s much as possible with, sheets or pieces of paper. Paint is easily scratched and petrol and kerosene discolour it. badly' when left to soak
Di-pose of old o I a.s soon as> you can. It may be spilt. Clean components thoroughly. Dirt and. grit are the greatest enemies of moving parts.
Do not jack up a ear in arc uncale position. Never use mako-ishi'T jacks and tackle. 'The less packing the better.
It is not advisable to wa-h the hands in petrol. Oil or kerosene are more advisable, or one of tli.s special cleaners now on the. market will be fou 11 .!I sati.sfactory.
