TOLAGA BAY NOTES GIRL GUIDES

(Special 'to Times) On Tuesday afternoon the local Girl Gu ,: do Committee met Ms. Uallonr, Provincial Commissioner, and Mis. .MacDonald, District Commissioner, when a great many matte.*s oi interest wore discussed. As it was stated that the committee levy which had hiecii paid was not in order, it was decided* that the committee should assist' divisional funds by means, of a ■voluntary contribution. It was also decided that local residents who we. c likely to take an interest in the move’ment should! bo approached to become associate members. Mrs. Watson and Mrs. Burgess were enrolled’ as committee members. Afterwards the Commissioners met the Gu.de Company and inspected', the general work.

SOCIAL- FOR BRIDE ELECT On Tuesday night Miss Mary Marcusen, whoso marriage to Mr. E. Knox takes place shortly, was the guest of honour at a pleasant social and dance organised by members of the t)3nnis and golf clubs, of both of which she has been a keen member. Mrs. Lincoln provided anisic for the dancing, with extras by Misses Holmes and Tho'nton arid Amaru and Otene. Mr. A. Joyce gave an item on a musical saw, which proved, an enjoyable novelty. 500 PARTY There was a good muster at the Bowling Club’s 500 party on Tuesday night, when the winning table was occupied by Mrs. Redstone, Miss Lipsett and Messrs. J. ancl J. Pickett.
