SUMMARY- AND FORECAST. (Press Association"). WELLINGTON. May 24. Pressure has remained low Lu tne north, while an intense anti-cyclonc extends from Easterh Australia across the Tasman Sea and New Zealand. Winds: Variable at first in the southern half of the South island, otherwise easterly to southerly prevailing, moderate to strong over thp North Island, and of gale force at places in the far north; light to moderate in the south.
Seas: High on the east coast of the Auckland Peninsula, rather rough to rough elsewhere north of Farewell Spit and Gastlepoint, slight to moderate south of Farewell Spit and Castlepoint.
Eastern Tasmfan Sea : East to south cast winds, strong in the northern portion, with rough seas, moderate m the southern potion, with moderate seas. Weather : Cloudy to overcast in the northern and north-eastern portions of tho North Island, with scattered rains, but some heavy falls in the extreme north; elsewhere fair to fine. Temperatures <'old with sharp inland frosts.
