Through a sudden thaw, parts of the icefields in the Caspian Sea have broken adrift, carrying, off 2000 ponies and 1400 fishermen, who, wise after a previous experience, have food and fuel -to' last forty days. Aeroplanes are scouting to -see that they are not in jeopardy.
