Despite efforts on the part of the .police to revupen the case, Mr Justice Trcnclrayd, at Trenton. New Jercov. to-day announced tlic bupieme Court's refusal to review the conviction of Hauptmann, who had been found guilty of the murder of Colonel and Mrs Lindbergh s baby, and sentenced to die in the electric chair on January 14.

The defence indicated that- it would attempt to prevent the execution through one of three, possible, devices: (1) It may undertake to present new evidence to Mr Justice Trenchard' and . ask for a > postponement of the execution; (2fi it may pro sent before the.
