The double-bill commencing at the Majestic Theatre to-day will include s “It Happened in New York,” and ' “Strange Wives.” Full oi fun, excitement and romance is “It Happened in New York,” with a cast in--3 eluding Lyle Talbot, Gertrude Michael, Heather Angel. Hugh O’Conii'll. Robert Glecker and others. The story, loaded with suspense mid thrills, might have happened to auyj. one. A good-natured taxi driver becomes involved in the affections of a k movie star from Hollywood, who is bored with fame and fortune. Not so a group of thieves, who have set their eyes on the lady's famous neckv. lace. Matters arc further, complicated when the driver’s sweetheart believes ho is false to her, and sets out to even things, with most amusing and romantic results. The plot races forward to. ail unexpected, and excising climax, with many comedy situations. Hardly less entertaining is “Strange Wives,” the comedy-drama which is the second feature.
