Acceleration of reciprocal trade treaty negotiations between the United States and Canada are expected to result from the visit of the new Prime Minister, Air Mackenzie King, on Thursday, who will remain through Saturday. On. Friday he will be received at,White House and will be the overnight guest of President and Airs Roosevelt. Although no official disclosures have been made it is assumed, that trade will be one of the principal topics of conversation between the President and the Prime Minister. As the Bennett Government had already made considerable progress in trade negotiations ft is thought po-sib’e that the conclusion of the treaty will he announced in two or three weeks. Whether the prospective treaty will conflict .'ln any way with the Gttawa agreements, and: if so, how the matter may be adjusted in London, is the principal point of speculation here fn anticipation of the Canadian statesman’s visit-.
