IN THE COURTS.
“BOOKIES” FINED (Press Associatiou.) BLENHEIM, Nov. 6. “I suppose it is a case of imposing a license fee", observed the magistrate, Air T. E. Maunsell, S.AL, in the Police Court this morning in fining Edwin Howard Davis and Ernest. Radd £25 each on bookmnking charges. Both defendants pleaded guilty. The police stated that Davis was well known as a bookmaker, vvhilo Radd was apparently acting as the agent for a bookmaker.
