The Navy is about to double, and eventually quadruple its anti-aircraft armament, state s the Daily Telegraph’s naval correspondent.. This is :i tacit admission of the. potency of air attack, which is expected to be more formidable as aviation progresses. The Nelson and the Rodney will carry six 4.Tin, anti-aircraft guns, and the other latest'battleships and cruisers four inch guns. Th e battleships Warspite and Ala lay a, now undergoing refit, will be the first t 0 have eight long range guns, probably of calibre, all controlled as a unit. Each will he capable of firing; SO to. 100' high explosive, sheila per minute at a sky target to a maximum of ceiling visibility. 'J'lio battleships -which are being laid dow 11 in 1087, will each hav 0 Hi guns.
