> RETIREMENT OF AIR FIELD After a. political career Avliich began in the first year of the pry cut century' Air Wi H. Field, M.P., for Otaki, has decided to surrender his seat in the House of Representatives. The announcement oi his retirement yesterday coincided with hih seventy-fourth birthday. A meeting of thel party delegates to- choose the- National Political Federation candidate for Otaki will he held, probably at Paelcakariki, in three weeks. It was stated on Tuesday that Air G. A. Monk had con■sented to. allow his name to' go forward for nomination. Air A. B. SicvAvrlight, of Wellington, has also consented to submit for nomination by the National Polit i cal' Federation.
