An unenviable experience' befell Richard Milne, of Awainoko (NY Otago) recently, when, aa a result of a hoiiso falling on her she suffered a compound fracture of tho thigh. It : appears that Mrs Milne went out early in the' afternoon to put soine sheep on green feed, and, apparently the horse she was- riding slipped and fell on her. She was unable to move,' and -some considerable time elapsed before . help arrived. At , a distance of several miles froih; home .it was found necessary to bring the injured woman in by sledge, and this took time owing to , the nature of the •country over which she had to he ; bourne, Tho night was extremely cold, and Mrs Milne was in danger of receiving frost bite, but fortunately ‘medical' attention was received in time, and she was' conveyed to the Oanlaru Hospital.
