SMALL CAPITALISTS. PROGRESS BY EVOLUTION. The capital owned,., by small investors in Great Britain to-day exceeds £3,000,000. This figure was quoted by Lord Uifi'o when ho spoke at the recent centenary dinner of the Coventry Savings Bank, Coventry. The only real fault of the capitalist system, said Lord lliffe, was that capital was in too few hands. They should do all in their power to increase the number of capitalists— of men and women with a stake in the country. As a. result lof such institutions as the Coventry Savings Bank, and the more enlightened policy of manufacturers and the growth of the thrift habit, the process of creating capitalists was proceeding rapidly. It would ensure that the nation would continue to progress by evolution and not by revolution.
