KING’S THEATRE

SHIRLEY TEMPLE “THE LITTLE COLONEL” That popular child star, Shirley Temple, is .seen in one of her best performances to- date in “The Little Colonel” which will ho repeated at four sessions at the King’s Theatre to-day. The story tolls how Shirley, as the “little colonel” brings about a reconciliation between her grandfather (Lionel Barrymore) an elderly colonel of the Confederate Army, and her mother, who has had the courage to marry a northern Yankee. Shirley is as autocratic as the old colonel himself. Finally there is forgiveness all round. Lionel Barrymore, in the part of the old Southerner, is superb. There is a first class supporting programme.
