The. Premier, General Combos, was challenged last week to a duel by an Opposition deputy, Dr Eckhart, following an alleged revelation that General Combos provided information which was the subject of a previous quarrel between Dr Eckhart and Count Bethlen.

Subsequently, General Combos and Dr Eckhart settled shcir quarrel without a duel, but this only precipitated another duel, and threatened a. third.

On Friday Dr Eckhart- fought with light cavalry '.sabre a, Government deputy, Herr Szalay. Each was wounded 10 times, when they desisted from sheer exhaustion.

General Combos eanher appeased Dr. Eckhart by saying Count Bethlen has misquoted him. Count Bethlen then sent his second to General Combos. Then General Gombos admitted his misunderstanding with Dr Eckhart, and Count Bethlen accepted the explanation this obviating a duel.
