“BROADWAY BILL" LAST SCREENINGS OF RACING FILM “Broadway Bill” the thrilling racing film., featuring Warner Baxter and Myrna Loy, will be screened at the King’s. Theatre again this afternoon and for the last time tonight. KATHERINE! HEPBURN—TOMORROW “THE LITTLE MINISTER” Ever since Maude Adams humanised the lovable character of Babbie in Sir James Barrie's never-to-be-forgotten story and pla,v, “The Little Minister” this quaint document has endeared itself to theatregoers everywhere. And now Katharin Hepburn has made a splendid interpretation of the story as her now starring vehicle for RKO-Badio which will be shown at the King’s to-morrow. Hollywood’s lavish resources have been drawn upon to the limit in regard to east, detail, iE*i mate touches, backgrounds, color, romance and inter-
pretation. There is the appealing romance of tbo little pastor, Gavin Dishart, for Babbie —a romance that tugs at the heart and engenders a fine sentiment enhanting the beholder. Babbie returns this love with all the nature of her sex—and to this love Katherine Hepburn is said to give a depth of tenderness and spirit which even she bus never before revealed. Sir James M. Barrie is a keen, penetrating, though whimsical writer. He knows the feminine eonl and his Babbie is the eternal Eve that be painted her—■ and Miss Hepburn is the ideal actress to portray his heroine most vividy. The spectator instantly responds to her naive net of intrigue which slie weaves around the seri-ous-minded Gavin and mischievously delights in watching him endeavour to break this romantic yoke. Everyone’s sympathy also glows at the attempts of the simple village weavers to break their industrial bondage. And when Babbie takes Gavin to the hilltop and persuades him to blow I lie horn, warning the countryside of the approach of the soldiers, one finds the incident not only highly dramatic, b,ut> appealing.
