As a result prices realised showed a distinct improvement; with strong competition-, buying being confined to local butchers. In the store sheep section forward wethers, sold steadily* while store ewes showed a slight improvement, thc tone of the market being distinctly hotter. Store lambs and breeding ewes sold firmly. Fat cattle: Bullocks,, medium to prime, £8 to £10; others, from £5 : 17s 6d; cows, medium to prime, £5 to £6 16s; others, from £3 2s 6d; hciFers, medium to prime, £5 15s to £7 10s; others, from £4 10s. Store cattles: Steers, 18: mqnths, to £3 0s; ,2£-yqqr jtpj;£4jll7s,j‘ four-year to £6 2s; empty heifers, to £3 18s. Fat sheep: Ewes, medium to prime 17s to 20s ; others, from 12s 6d; wethers, medium to prime, 21s 2d to 2'3s 6d; others, frqm 19s -2d; lambs, ;to 21s 4d.
