SUMMARY AND FORECAST (Press Association^ WEL LINO TON, April 20. •—General Situation— A fairly intense anti-cyelone extends from Eastern Australia onto Now Zealand, but a slight westerly depression, at present is crossing the southern portion of the Dominion. —Forecast — Winds: Westerly to south-wester-ly, strong at times in the .far south and along the east coast of the South Island’: otherwise moderate southerlies, becoming general by to-morrow. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough about Fovcaux Strait, rising on the east coast of the South Island; elsewhere smooth to moderate Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate south-west to south winds and moderate scan. Weather: Mainly fair at first, but some scattered showers in the western and far southern portions of the South Island ; showers extending tomorrow also tc/ parts of the eastern districts.
