According to speakers, similar gatherings will be hoi cl throughout the nat'on until an organisation is effected along the linos of a regular political party, although Father Coughlin insists that his only aim is to “lobby” for his sixteen-point legislative campaign and that he has no aspirations t-o assume political leadership himself. To-night, 17,000 League members crowded Olympia .stadium. Thousands more outside heard the speeches through amplifiers. Representatives of the National Fanners’ Union and the American Federation o'f Labor participated in the programme,. a.s did a number of Congressmen, including Seiiiator Nyc.
