Appalling Wastage

The Daily Telegraph’s Moscow correspondent says that abnormal breakages and faulty construction in the heavy industries continues, though the gross output is maintained. , s ‘ The official organ of the Commissariat of Heavy Industries accuses Red directors of factories of dreaming of white tiled floors while neglecting the rags for wiping the machinery. In all -£1,300,000 of wastage was recorded in a single’ State ball-bearing factory fin- 1934; though it is equipped with the latest Italian machinery. The Caterpillar Tractor Works at Cheliabinsk is another " bad offender.
