Tho great problem of what to do with their thousands of wedding presents has been settled temporarily Presents that are going to b c used in No. 3 have been transferred there The rest are to rejnain at York House tho Duke’s home of bachelor days. The house is a complete picture, its , lovely centre being the Duchess’ apartments, running along the front of the second floor The Duchess’ bathroom is in black and silver. It is tile -most handsome of tire seven bathrooms. The bath iV sot in a silver alcove, and On the walls above it is a pointed ' silver fountain against a • black - background, It gives the illusion of spraying into the hath. The curtains are waterproofed silver. A''small antq room with a glass floor, lit from underneath by concealed lights, leads to tho Duke’s apartments. His . bedroom is decorated in “Georgian blue” (a cross between blue and green) The Duchess’ boudoir-: at the back of the ground floor, has a small balcony which lookg out' on a garden. The walls have been made of stripped! 1 -pine and lined with bookcases. Damask curtainsi match the:woo'd. ■/ - •
