Tivro boys, aged five and 1 eight-, were stated at Middlesex Sessions to have, had t° make hair curlers before g° ing to school in the morning, at mid day and in the evening. That, said counsel;, was at the command ot tliuir father. The children and their mother had to make 4320 curlers, in order to earn 12s. The father, Charles Ayres. (42), °f Willesden Lane, Willesden,. was sentenced to six months’ for neglecting his three .sons, the youngest -of whom Is 3) years old. Mr L. A. Byrne said tlio family lived in. two rooms, the heel clothes consisting of rags, and the only person who did nothing \vas Ayres, who spent.most of his time in bed. "Ho is too lazy to work,” added counsel, ‘‘too lazy to look ter work, and apparently ; too lazy to apply for- relief.”
