James Randell Litton, married, of Christchurch, died in hospital to-day as' a result of injuries received through the branch of a tree falling on his head while he was timber cutting at Gulverdcn on March 2d. A cleor-stalking tragedy occurred in heavy bu'li country near Mumnara on Wednesday, when Norman Wilii nielli, 20, of Henderson, was killed nstniitly through the accidental dischargo of a gun. Deceased, together with Trevor Rear and Mr Rear, senior, of Tirau, •set out into the bush country along the Wliirinaki river oil Tuesday. So far as can be gathered,.Mr Willimoff way leading the party and cutting a track through the bush when the rifle he was carrying discharged, shooting him through the heart.
