A message from Olympia, Washington,, states that Dr. Robert Prior, State Director of Dairies, announced to-tiay that a shipload of New Zealand butter destined for the Seattle area, where prices are high owing to scarcity, was held up because it was unaccompanied by certificates proving that it came from dairies complying with the health requirements of the Washington State.

He said the shipment was good average produce, comparing favourably „ with the Washington grades. The brokers here said it v/as impossible to trace the origin of the butter’.
