TOKOMABTJ BAY NOTES. e PERSONALS. (Special to the Times). Mr. and Mrs. K. McKay* accompanied by their two daughters, Misses May and Isabel, have left on a motor tour in their caravan and are making for Taupo, where they Intend camping. Having their own boat, they anticipate some good fishing, etc. Mr. and Mrs. O. Williams, of Patutahi, with their small family, are camping adjacent to the beach in Tokomaru Bay for the first weeks of the school holidays. Mr. and Mrs. J. Carver and June, their small daughter, are Tokomaru Bay visitors to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. James and family took their departure from the Bay over the week-end. They intend visiting Auckland before going to their future home in Midhurst, Taranaki. Prior to their departure, Mr. James was the recipient of several appropriate gifts from the pupils and staff of the Tokomaru Bay Public School. One and all regret the departure of Mr. and Mrs. James. Miss Edith James was the 1934 dux of the Public school.
Miss Phil Todd accompanied Mr. and Mrs. James to Auckland, where she intends staying for the holidays with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicoll.
Miss Ethel Daley, of Gisborne, spent the Christmas holidays in Tokomaru Bay with her mother, Mrs. Daley, Ongaruru. Mr. and Mrs. Alt. Berkahn, of Hawke’s Bay, are visiting the Bay and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. Oates.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Boag, Hautanoa, ■were Tokomaru Bay visitors to Gisborne for Christmas. Mrs. M. E. Wilson, Tokomaru Bay, is visiting Mrs. J, O’Neil, Mnkariki.
Mr. D. Bruce, senr., and Miss Judith Bru.ce were the guests of Mr. and Airs. J. McNeil, Tiki tiki, for the festive season, Mr. and Airs. J. Wilson have left on a motor tour of the North Island. They intend visiting their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Airs. D. Afclvav. of Huntervillo, before returning.
TE PUIA DANCE. The Te Pnia Hall was taxed to the utmost on Wednesday night when a dance was held as a finish to the wonderful day at the swimming carnival. Many .who had attended the sports remained for the dance and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The music was supplied by Wi Hapi’s orchestra and was most popular. Air. C. AlcCracken proved a most efficient M.C. and during an interval in the dancing, on behalf of the committee, thanked all those who had helped in making the evening such an unprecedented success. A delicious supper was served by an energetic committee of ladies.
