POVERTY BAY v. GISBORNE

The! first- of the season’s competition®, inter-club games in whicn teams from Poverty Bay, Gisborne, Kahutia.. To Ka-raka and Tolaga Bay Clubs will compete, is to start on Thursday. Poverty Bay and Gisborne, are tire first two clubs to engage anfii their clash will occur on Thursday and Saturday of this week. An innovation in tho method ot deciding tho competition tel to bo introduced this season, with n; view to evening up the chances of those clubs which arc unable to enter so many rinks. The matches are to ho played in five sections of four rink® apiece. To decide the section winner tho aggregate points scored !>7 the two teams in cue section are . boi be added together a-ndl the rtrvultant winner receives the competition points. As- far ns this, week’s, matches is concerned, each section winner will score four points, but when, for instance, two. of the country clubs moot, an aggregate of 20 points will he spread over the sections engaged. If, as appears, likely with some clubs, • only one Ration will he required, 'the full 20 points, will bo awarded the) successful representatives
