Tbe Federal Cabinet discussed the proposed restriction f°r two months of Australian exports of beef and veal to. the United Kingdom. The Government’s opposition is evident bue it is held the position ;. could be clarified by securing export knowledge- and opinions of the industry. Dr Pago, is calling tbe Moat Advisory Board to a conference at Canberra as soon as possible. In y,p ' T of the likelihood of .Western Australia- desiring to- be represented, it improbable that the conference will be held earlier than the beginning of next week.
Cabinet considered the now tariff schedule to be introduced in Parliament shortly.- It is understood! that tho cotton duties recently iniposea by. .the ; Commonwealth.. Govomnicnlwere reviewed to determine, Whether an agrement could be reached with Lancashire interests.." No. decision whs reached ,hut it. is t possible . that certain alterations will "bo made to meet the situation.
