SYDNEY REGATTA WANGANUI UNION WIN SENIOR EIGHTS U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Nov. 11, . 6.20 p.m.) SYDNEY Nov. 11. At the Sydney regatta yesterday, Wanganui Union very comfortably won the Kerr Cup for senior eighth over 2000 metres. The trophy, which was specially presented for to-day's race, becomes the property of the winners. Taking the lead after the first- two hundred yards, the vivo tors rapidly drew away, and at- the half-mile there was clear water between them 'and the other crews. The veteran Hcalev did not have to increase tlie rate of stroking at any stage to give the crew a three lengths’ victory.

A splendid race was witnessed be: tween Mosman Haberfield, Sydney, and New South Wales Police for the minor placing;;. Mosman finished best for second, with Sydney a canvas away third. In the 2000 metra:-- senior -sculls both the New Zealanders Smith find Abbott contented themselves with minor placings in heats to qualify for the filial. Owing to indisposition, Smith was unable to : compete in tbe final, which was won by 1/ lengths by Turner, of New South Walep Police. from Abbott. Abbott was lastin a field of five with a quarter of a mile to go. but finished strongly, sculling well. His showing against Turner, who is the most outstanding sculler since Bobbie Pearce, wa s real ly good.

C. Pearce, of Balmain, a cousin of Robbie Pearce, was third, a. length behind Abbott.

Moss, who was injured in Melbourne, did not row in the Wanganui Union eight and wars replaced by Luxford.
