MATAWHERO STOCK SALE.

POOR ENTRIES IN ALL SECTIONS

There was only a small sale at the Matawhero yards yesterday. Entries in all sections,- particularly • sheep, were, poor,. while, only about half the number of pigs.yarded last,week came forward.

STORE SHEEP. The entry of store sheep totalled 44 Which sold as follows: Eight dry ewes, 7s 4d; 4 good woolly wethers, 18s 2d; 8 good woolly ewe hoggets, 19s .id ; 18 do., • wethers, 18s Gd ; 6 ewes' with lambs, average 27s 6d. FAT CATTLE. Two outstanding pens of Hereford and Polled Angus cows Avere offered in tlie fat cattle section, and these made £4 7s 6d and £4 10s. The rest of the entry of 28 was uninteresting, and sold at very, easy figures. Prices Avere:'—

FAT SHEEP. Only 99 fat sheep were yarded. Prices advanced, on. last week. .Shorn ewes made 12s to 12s lCd! avociM.v owes 15's lOd, and second grade shorn ewes 10s. Prices were :—- Shorn ewes.—27 at 12s Id; 30, 12s lOd; 4,12 s 9d; 11, 12s. Second grade.—7 shorn ewes, 10s.

PIGS. The pig entry was just over 100, following the drop in export values. The sale showed a noticeable decline. -Prices wore: Six good condition White slips, 14s; 1 do., Tamworthcross, 17s Gd; 6 choice Berkshire wcaners, 16s and 15s Gd; 2 light, medium, slips, 11s Gd; s'.good'White porkers, 34s and 32s Gd; 4 Tamwofth medium porkers, 335; 4 heavy slips, 18s; a consignment of 27 7-wceks’ old'and as big as slips, sold on account of Mr.. L. Wagner, 18s; 10 choice Berkshire weaners, 16s Gd and 15s Gd ; 5. small stores, full of condition, 22s Gd'; 3, smaller than last, 20s; 4- quality heavy Tamworth-cross slips, 21s; '2, a,s' last, 21s; 1 heavy Berkshire porker, 3Gs;. 7 heavy Berkshire weanors, 18s; 2, good . half-size .
