SUMMARY AND FORECAST (Press Association! WELLINGTON, Dec. 29A deep depression is still located west of New Zealand, but is gradually moving away, while an anticyclone is approaching from the Tasman. Winds: Southerly gales moderating west and south aqd later, also *n other districts. Seas: Moderate south' pf Farewell Spit; else rough to heavy, decreasing to-morrow. • Eastern Tasman: Moderate to strong, but decreasing southerly winds. Weather: Fine west of ranges; elsewhere still changeable and rather unsettled, with scattered showers especially on the East Coast of the North Island; improving to-morrow; temperatures cold.
