F LAG LIEUTENANT BRILL! A NT. No bettor picture far a holiday attraction could have been chosen than ‘"The Flag Lieutenant” which delighted large audiences yesterday. The glamour of life in the senior service is represented in attractive' manner, but' with fitting dignity and reserve. Naval etiquette is faithfully translated, technique is sound and . tradition closely observed. A. well-chosen, cast adapts itseify splendidly to the ' demands of a traditional etiquette. Henry Edwards, as. Lieutenant Dicky Lascelles, a role he has played in ptago presentations of ‘‘The Flag Lieutenant”; gives- ..a bright and breezy portrayal. Peter Gawthprne i s cast as the Major of Marines, and emphasises that officer's flair lor cfficency, and Ms disappointment at the lack of-'opportunity for advancement, in admirable manner. Includ—' cd also are Michael Hogan, Lu’*s Goodrich, O. B. Clarence and Anna, Nc-vglo, the last-named filling the .heroine’s role iwith 'great charm- and 1 sympathy.
