SUMMARY AND FORECAST. (Press Association^ WELLINGTON, Nov. 2. —-General Situation— A fairly vigorous westerly depression has passed Tasmania, and will begin to affect southern Neiw Zealand to-morrow. Owing to the presence of an intense anti-cyclone over the Dominion, however, it is Rkely to lose its intensity. —Forecast— Winds: South-east to east . from Cook Strait northwards; strong in the far north; elsewhere light to fresh north-cast to north over tho South Island and later moderate to strong. Seas; Rather rough to rough north of East Cape and the far south; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern 1 Tasman Sea; Moderate to strong north-east to northerly winds; seas rather rough. Weather: For the most part fair to fine and mild, hut a few showers likely in the northern and southern extremities of the Dominion.
