An interesting discovery of a qnan tiv.y of mna l(Ones was made on iho farm of Mr. V. F. Higgins, at Moi/o. '{’ho dories arc in a fairly good state of preservation. and consist of l- ,u ; ' of iwo' leg bones, what is apparently n toe hone, a part of the spine -and two pointed hones shaped like hho snoni of a swordfish, hut raiher smaller. Mr Higgins' property is drainer, swamp land, and is situated about a mile and a half from the Ainnrunui property on which' moa hones were found last year. The discovery was made iu a ditch at a depth of about =ix feet. Similar finds have been made in this district from lime io'time, and add much interesting geological evidence that ibis part of Now Zealand has undergone many changes in its na u Geologists are able to show that violent earthquakes raised and Intver*\j this pari of the country in prehistoric rimes, and discoveries such a s that made by Mr. Higgins give added proof that a great deal o' swamp land in this district was, habitable in. comparatively recent times, at least Jor animal life.
