FUNERAL OF MR. GULDE (Special to tb© Times). OPOTIKiI, Oct. 30. The funeral took place this morning (of Mr G. T. Guide, who was found dying on. thei Waiotahi beach ■on Saturday morning after apparently having been thrown (from a horse. A large number of settlersfrom Nukubou and town residents were present at the ■ graveside, where an impressive service was conducted by the Rev. C ; . G. Salt, Anglican -vicar. The coroner, Mr F. J. Short, opened the inquest yesterday, when ovidonoa ’of identification was taken, the proceedings being adjonrTied since die. BENEFICIAL MAIN Splendid penetrating rain fell on Saturday night and all day .yesterday, just ail. inch being registered. The rain will be of great benefitto tho young grass and to topdressing, and also to the maiK© crops.
