Sir Charles Kingsford Smith says he is looking forward to the forthcoming flight across the Tasman at the end of the year. Despite rumors to the contrary, “Smithy” definitely will sponsor the flight to New Zealand of a twin-eng-ined monoplane now being built in Sydney. This plane will fly in company iwith the Southern Cross and will he piloted by Squadron-Leader T. White, of Timani. “Smithy’’ .says that in his opinion the neiw monoplane is of the right type for use in a national air service in the Dominion, and he is completing plans to promote an avia tion company with New Zealand cap ital, in which ho will take an active par.t. The plane is specially designed to suit New Zealand conditions.
