Nathan.) was occupied by Mrs Grant The entire evening was spent in the reading of the play ‘‘The Skin Game ’ by John Galsworthy, the parts being taken by the 1 following members) Hornblow, Mrs Grant; Hi'lerust, Mrs. N. Oates; -Amy (his wife), Aliss 3M. Gibson) : Jill (his daughter). Miss Trafford; Charles Hoimblower, Mrs J. McDonald; Chloo (Ins Avile), Miss DConolc; Dawker, Miss B. Doig; Holt. M iss Jackson; r nie Jackman, Misses E. Oates and 1'- Holleve''; auctioneer, Mrs Nugent; the stranger. Miss D. ITolah. For the reading at noxt meeting, it was decided to procure either Barrie’s ‘Dear Brutus’’ or “The Romantic Age” by A. A. Milne

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE The mouthly meeting of the Tokomaru Bay ’Women’s Institute took place ou "Wednesday. Mrs. G” a ut presided and the roll call “My Pet Superstition’’ was responsible tor some amusing remarks. A most instructive demonstration was given by Firs J. E. James ou the making of sea grass stools, Mrs Sparks avo" the competition for the best boAvl o 1 roses, with. Mrs Grant a good second. Another competition “Something to be made from not more than •2s worth of avooI” was won by Mi's Nugent while in tlm home made loai section Mrs. J. Corbett carried off the honours. A delicious afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Mesdames Grant, McDonald, Gilmouf and Miss Goddard, and the meeting concluded AviUi the singing of the National Anthem.

The last of a series of card evenings held by the Boivling Club io increase their funds was held on Wednesday night at the Pavilion. There was a large crowd and a delicious supper Avas served. Those playing at the winning table were Mesdames Sparks and G. McKay and Mr. Tewhata and Mr. Scholium.
