An interesting ceremony took place at Mount. St. Mary’s, Greenmeadows) Hawke’s Bay, recently, when tho new chapel at the mission was fornin’lly opened. ft will be remembered that the former handsome brick edifice was .destroyed by ihe earthquake of February 3, 1931, with tragic loss of life. The now chapel has boon substantially erected in wood. The official .opening ceremonial on Sunday was conducted by his'Tvraco Arohbidhop O’Shea, in the absence of Archbishop Redwood, who is on a visit to Australia. It is appropriate to note incidentally that Archbishop O’Shea, was ono •of the first band of priests to bo ordained from tire Monnec Seminary many years ago. The function marks not only the completion - of tho new. chapel, but also of tho restoration work involved on the mission property as a. wnole.
