Charmingly-decorated, the Ormond Hall presented a gay and festive scene on Tuesday night, when t ll e members of’ the local Basketball Club held a most successful dance. Interlaced streamers of every hue formed a canopy overhead, and feathery greenery was used with artistic effect in the adornment of the wall spaces, while the arrangement of the stage was a special feature of the decorative scheme.

Representing a miniature garden, a low hedge, placed just behind the footlights, was enhanced with masses of golden chrysanthemums, and in the background cabbage trees flanked a picturesque archway composed of marigolds intermingled with delicate greenery. The same taste w as displayed in tlie decoration of the supper-room, the- tables being charr.iugly adorned with gold and brown streamers, the colours of the club and crystal vases of pink chrysanthemums combined with asparagus fern. The duties of MX. were efficiently undertaken by Air. C. He.wie, and Mrs. Alenzies’ orchestra supplied me spa.rkling music, extras being played bv Aiiss Farrow and Mr. Houghton.
