Seas: —Heavy between Kaikoura, and the East Cape and in Taranaki Bight, .rough elsewhere ' north of Fare,well Spit. Eastern Tasman. Winds Variable strong southeast to northwest prevailing; seas moderate to rather rough, with confused swell.

Weather Cloudy to' overcast, much mist and rain in. tlio eastern districts north of Banks Peninsula and over most of the Auckland Province, elsewhere a little rain. Some improvement is likely generally 'tomorrow. Temperatures cool.
