BREEDERS AND RESEARCH WORKERS CONFER SEARCH FOR IMPROVEMENT (Press Association) PALMERSTON N., May 25. Arranged by the Massey Agricultural College andi Romney Marsh She O-p Breeders’ Association for the purpose of discussing technical matters of importance to the sheep and wool industry, a two days’ conference of breeders and research workers was oponed at the college this morning by the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. C. E, Macmillan. Among others present wore Sir William Perry, the Hon. S'r Geo. FowkF, chairman of the College Council, Dr. Marsden, secretary uf the Department of Scientific Research, Professor Peren, principal of the college, members of the governing council, representatives oif sheep breeders’ organisations, and leading men in the industry from all parts of the North Island. In the course of an address, Sir William Perry said the main question for the conference, that of wool improvement, tvould be considered tomorrow. This action followed upon a ■suggestion advanced by Hie Prime Minister after a visit- to the college that something in this connection should he done. The Hon. E. A. Ransom and the Hon. C. E. Macmillan had gone into the matter, and had decided to attend tlvo conference.
