It is expected tjiat at an early, stage of the World Conference, Mr. J. If. Thomas -will call a meeting of all Empire delegates. / Some reports state that a meeting will be held prior to the' conference itself, but : the New Zealand, and probably other delegations, will be unable to arrive until after June 12, add consequently a preliminary meeting could only bo on a small scale. According to the Yorkshire Post, the object of the meeting will be to reassure the Dominions, some of whom are suspicious that the tariff may eventually endanger the Ottawa agreements.

(Press Association)
WIIANGAREI, May 24
A copy of the agenda paper prepared by the Preparatory Commission for submission to the forthcoming World Economic Conference has been, received by Mr. H. M. Rush worth- M.P., for the Bay of Islands.
“It is a lengthy document, couched in diplomatic terms, and requires very careful reading,” he said at the Auckland Provincial Farmers’ Conference this moniing, “but in mv opinion, it is clear that the conference will endeavour to have all the countries of the western civilised world return to the gold basis at varying percentages. I also think it is indicated that all monetary systems will be put under the control of the Bank of International Settlements.”
