EXPORTS RISE AND IMPORTS FALL.. BALANCE; OF £5,023,000. FOR FOUR MONTHS. (Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 23 The figures for the overseas trade of New Zealand for April show >lithe exports are valued at £3.984,041 and .imports at £1,470,571, compared with £4.957,535 and £1.606689 .respectively for April 1932. The exports for the four months ended April last arc valued at £16,838,023 and the imports at £7,045,208, the balance in terms of- New Zealand currency (excluding specie) being £8,023,000,
For the corresponding period the previous year the figures were: exports £.16,457,136 and imports '£“,- 609,972, the balance being £7,700,000.
