LADIES’ COMPETITION OPENED. The Poverty Bay Hockey Association. ladies’ competition was opened at the Reserve on Saturday afternoon in ideal weather. YLAL.P. (A) defeated Kia Toa hy two goals to nil, while AVaituhi won from Y.ALP. (B) hy default. POVFiRTY BAY ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the* Poverty Bay Hockey Association was held last night, Mr. 3k Sim presiding over a full attendance of delegates. Correspondence was received from the New Zealand Hockey Association, regarding the alterations in the rules of the game, and also from the Hawke’s Bay Ladies’ Association, challenging for the Lady Carroll Shield. A further team in the ladies’ Saturday competition, Old Girls, was entered last, night, this making the fifth team in the petitionDR AAV FOR THURSDAY.
