WOODVILIIE JOCKEY CLUB. ACCEPTANCES. Saturday, May 27, 1933. ’ (Press Association) PAUMEUSTON N.,- May 22, The following, acceptances hav been receiver] for. the Woodvillo Pis t rich Jockey Club’s meeting to b held on Saturday, May 27: — Winter Hurdles, of 75 sovs. One and a-Half miles.

NOTES AND NEWS. Prince of Orange was the popular choice for the Te fvuiti Hurdles, but Mia Stella and Bilform kept him at it in the first mile and.he then rotfra] beaten. Paddon dashed into the lead about five furlongs from home, lmt High Commissioner never allowed him to get far away and headed him before the last fence to beat him eaisly. Bilform plodded on to get third and True Blood was a moderate fourth, with the others well beaten. High Commissioner is an improved horse and Paddon. displayed definite signs' of coming bade. Ho looks well and should improve rapidly in the next fortnight. Biform performed creditably and True Blood just plodded on a t iho end. His jumping was far from good and he requires more schooling yet to hold his own with the host hurdlers. » » * Only five started in the King Country Steeples, and it proved easy for Make Up. who led practically throughout and won on the hit from Lucess. with Wiltshire a moderate third. Make Up did not jump some

of liis fences well when going slow in. the- middle singes, swerving badly 'at some but ho cleared them very quieklv and donn.lv when ho had some pace on. Duress had every chance and was moll, beaten. Master Ini lost liis rider .and Star Comet was pulled up. Make Up should strip in great heart- at Ellerslie. » * ■» I’od Bank’s win in the "Wanganui Steeplechase was a. surprise, but bo won-well agter giving a great jumping display. He was probably lucky that Onico fell at. the last fence when np with him, but on the day Red Bank won like a racehorse. Anderson took Red' Bank. to the. front from the start, and soon put a big break on Birkbeck, Jen, and Omeo. Birkbock and Omeo sot out after Red Bank six furlongs from home, and at the second last fence were just in behind him. A bad jump cost Birkbcck his chance, but Omeo went on only to fall at the last fence when he . appeared to have the . leader’s measure.. This loft Red Bank a comfortable winner from Birkbeck, with Jen a.poor third.. The winner made] no semblance of an error, and on the day thoroughly deserved his win.. Omeo races without luck. Birkbeck had to muster tip ..a lot..more pace; than on the first day, and this found him jumping faultily over the last I three or four fences.

Hc-nry of Navarre and Ganpat were better backed than High Falutin in the hurdles at AVangnnm, but. High Falutin again won, and very comfortably. Ganpat made the running from Ruan.ui and Henry of Navarro. Tho field closed up down the back the last time, Im.t over the .last two fences Riinnui had .bonded the- Jot and led to the last with High Falutin Once over, High Faintin’ came on for a. comfortable win, while Aliss Hastings came with a. late ru'n and ran Ruamii to a neck. Henry of Navarre was fourth, and Ganpat next. High Faintin’ won without any difficulty. Ruanui .gave a much-improved showing, but the two favorites wore disappointing. Henry of Navarre covered a lot of extra ground. Ganpat, after making a ,bad landing five furlongs from home, was beaten on the home turn. Aliss Hastings ran well. Green Linnet lost some of her gear.
